GROUP STORYTELLING:

Someone starts a story and, after a couple of sentences, someone else continues the story.

Something in the closet was making a strange noise, so I opened the door and...

someone stepped out of the closet behind me and put their hand over my mouth. I couldn't scream or move so I...

passed out. When I woke up I was in a basement and could hardly see anything except....

a huge spider web in front of my face. Naturally, I.....

Went totally balistic and the crazy man who dragged me down there was scared off. Course then the ambulance came and when they were taking me away to the crazy hospital.....

I saw a single, tiny spider slip into the back of the shirt of the EMT who was taking me out on the stretcher. I started to flip out again. I don't know how it happened but I managed to....

jump from the gurney and beging singing show tunes to scare off the spider.


I then whacked the handsome EMT with an oxygen tank to finish off the spider.

The driver stopped the ambulance and...

I ran out the back door....

stumbling along the roadway. I desperately searched for some form of civilization but could only find a dilapidated old farm house. The shutters were falling off, windows broken, and a strange sound was coming from inside.

Turns out there was a little old lady living in the house. I found her in a beat up, thread bare recliner that might have been maroon once upon a time. She was watching Dr. Who and arguing with the characters on the screen.

"What the hell are you doing? Any idiot can see that you will get eaten if you go down there! You british twit!"

"Ahem." I cleared my throat....

Well, I must have scared her or something because her reaction was not what I was expecting. She....

climbed out of the decrepit chair, delicately balancing on her knarled cane, and shuffled towards me.

"Who do you think you are, barging in on a little old lady?" she screeched.

"I....uh....ummmmm.....ah....."

I stammered not really knowing what to say to the woman. She looked a lot like the woman that I had seen on America's Most Wanted the night before...the woman that had...

Thankful I didn't look like I Dr. Who......

I apologized for scaring the old woman and offered to fix her a cup of tea. She accepted and I quickly realized that I didn't know where things were in her kitchen. Imagine my surprise when I opened the cabinet and found...

I heard a soft shuffle behind me. I turned slowly to see...

Distract him. Shouldn't be too hard, I mean how smart can this guy be? Right?

"Uh...Hi! Nice weather huh?"

"Did you hear the one about the giant and the coal shovel?"

huh?


I reached behind me and grabbed a shovel I saw earlier.

"yeah, the giant walked in the room and...."

CLANG!

the stupid head of the shovel fell to the floor. I looked at the handle and noticed it was crawling with termites. They completely covered the handle and were beginning to crawl up my arms.

I completely freak out and begin flinging my arms in an attempt to get the bugs off of me. I hear a maniacal laugh come from a doorway I hadn't noticed before. The doorway was completely dark.

I had a choice to make, go back and deal with Lurch who was blocking the escape route back through this mad house or move through the darkened doorway toward the maniacal laughter.

I really had no choice...

I went for the door.


I stepped across the threshold and groped for a switch. No go.

"Damn. Why did I quit smoking? I could really use a lighter about now." I said to my self.

The laughter continued...just a high pitched cackle. I shuffled across the floor, sweeping with my foot before stepping, toward the sound.
It was black. pitch black. so blackishly black that words cannot describe it. it was the absence of everything, except the laugh...
